MHS Learners Excel at HOSA State Leadership Conference

Five Mineola High School learners earned top honors at the New York HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Spring Leadership Conference, held from March 24-26 in Syracuse. This annual event brings together students from across the state to demonstrate their knowledge and technical skills through rigorous competitive events designed for the next generation of healthcare providers.
Following days of intensive competition, several students secured podium finishes in their respective categories:
- Eliana Lee: 1st Place, Clinical Laboratory Science
- Sophia Chen: 1st Place, Medical Assisting
- Michelle Shao: 2nd Place, Medical Assisting
- Reese Devins: 2nd Place, Pharmacy Science
- Samantha Savage: 3rd Place, Human Growth & Development
By placing in the top three of their events, these students have officially qualified for the HOSA International Leadership Conference. This prestigious global event will take place from June 17-20 in Indianapolis, drawing thousands of students from around the world.
In addition to the international competitions, the qualifying team will have the opportunity to participate in more than 80 professional development workshops and health-related educational symposiums. These sessions provide students with direct insights from industry experts and allow them to explore various career paths within the medical field.
We are #MineolaProud to congratulate these students on their impressive achievements and wish them the best of luck as they represent the community on the international stage this June.
