Congratulations to the cast and crew of the Mineola Middle School production of “Emma! A Pop Musical” who captivated audiences with three spectacular performances last weekend.

“Emma! A Pop Musical” brings Jane Austen's classic novel to life with a contemporary twist, a dose of girl power and a stellar soundtrack of infectious hit songs from legendary girl groups and iconic female singers.

On stage, the students brought their colorful characters to life with outstanding presence, comedic timing and commanding confidence that was felt throughout the theater. Their dance numbers thrilled and exceptional voices soared as they delivered pitch-perfect performances of timeless tunes ranging from The Supremes and Salt-n-Pepa to Pat Benatar, Shania Twain and Katy Perry.

Behind the scenes, the stage crew executed their tasks flawlessly with every detail of the lights, sound and set presented with precision and care.

With a cast of 143 students and 47 crew members, a show of this magnitude does not come together without intense focus, planning and lots of time and energy from all who are involved in the production. The district is #MineolaProud of our incredible students who worked hard to bring Emma to the stage and grateful to our faculty production team whose dedication inspires, excites and engages, ensuring that, from the first notes to the final curtain call, our learners shine like the aspiring Broadway stars that they are!
