Hampton Street Learners Explore STEM on Discovery Day

Second graders at Hampton Street enjoyed an exciting and hands-on Discovery Day filled with creativity, collaboration and cutting-edge technology!
Students had the opportunity to learn from members of the Mineola High School Robotics Team, who brought their impressive robots for live demonstrations and interactive activities. The high school robotics students proudly showcased their competition robots, explaining how they are designed, built and programmed to complete complex challenges.
Our young learners didn’t just watch — they became engineers themselves! Second graders worked alongside the robotics team to explore Maze Code challenges, program Ozobots and operate Dash robots. Through these engaging activities, students practiced problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork skills while discovering the fun and creativity behind coding.
Discovery Day was an inspiring experience that sparked curiosity and gave our students a glimpse into the exciting world of STEM. A big thank you to the Mineola High School Robotics Team for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with our future innovators!
